Last minute Sally...

Hey all! Remember me?! It's been awhile...

Who else is NOT ready for Christmas this year?! It's officially Christmas Eve now that the clock has struck midnight and I haven't finished shopping......and I haven't even STARTED wrapping........and I am STILL working on my Aunt's scrapbook album!

So typical for me, right?! 

I am not even going to embarrass myself by admitting how many pages I have done.....let's just say that I probably won't sleep until after Christmas dinner, at this rate!

Nonetheless, I wanted to show you the double page layout I finished tonight. It's been awhile since I have tried to tap into my creative juices, so I had to find a challenge or two to play along with! 

So, I got hunting around and found the "Whip It Up" challenge, over at The ScrapRoom and decided to play along! I also used a great sketch I found on Pinterest, making a couple of changes so I could convert it to a double page layout.

The Whip It Up challenge asked us to use gold embellishments....and one would THING that would be simple enough but much to my dismay, once I got to work I quickly realised I had very few gold choices. LOL!

I am happy with the outcome though. Let me know what you think!

These photos are so cool! I don't know if you can READ any of the stuff on my layout, but this was Christmas 1973 for my Aunt & Uncle! I am loving seeing all these old pictures and watching their story progress...

Anyway, I best go start the next page! I will not be satisfied unless I get at LEAST 7 more layouts done.

The Great Digi-Lift Project......Week ONE!

Week one already for us, over at The Great Digi-Lift Progect and we are excited to kick things off!

I was inspired to lift the layout itself and LOVED the colors, design, clusters, mixed papers.....EVERYTHING! Come on by and check out our inspiration this week!

Mojo.......where art thou?!

A couple of weeks ago, I started a project. I found a mini album tutorial on YouTube that I wanted to try and selected a kit that I have been hoarding for weeks months and got to work!

On the cover. And the base pages. And that's about it! Said projected was never completed, in fact, the only part of the inside that I finished was the inside cover.

So typical of me lately! I don't know where my mojo has gone...........I have been lacking in it now for a couple of years. I wonder if this means it is time to clear it all out? Maybe my crafty days are over...

Anyway, here is my album so far. Today is Wednesday and I am determined to spend the remainder of this week Netflixin' and Chillin' in my craft room.............so bring on the challenges I say! 

What is that saying that involves a bodily function and a pot?! I think it's that time...

I WILL finish this album.....I WILL finish this album......I WILL........

I SCRAPPED!!!!!!

You know me. Total challenge junkie! Or, at least I used to be. Lately......I don't show my paper much love though to be honest! My husband has even taken to teasing me about it.

Tonight, while just starting date night, Heather sent me a message asking me what I was up to this evening. I told her not to much and she asked me if I felt like crafting. I told her sure! Then instantly felt like I ditched Mister D. (Not that we had a crazy date night planned at all, we had out butts planted on the couch for a Netflix & Chill evening.)

Me: Honey, do you mind if I craft for awhile with Heather later, after she gets the kids down?

MisterD: No, go ahead.

Me: Awwww, I feel like I am ditching you!

MisterD: Are you kidding me?! Just go use THAT room for $^#&*$(%'s sakes!

Me: *sheepish blushing* I use that room.....(in a voice barely above a whisper...

MisterD: Yeah right! *ROLLS HIS EYES*

So, I sent a message on Facebook to an old crafting friend who I always find inspirational, got the links to some of the sites she likes to take part in, found a challenge on one of them and was DONE. I LOVE the concept of this challenge and I just HAD to play! Heather decided to adapt hers to a card and I did a layout. FINALLY.

Head on over to The Scraproom Blog and check out their Freaky Fast Friday challenge.......I have never seen a challenge like it! I will be playing with them from now on. When I scrap. More often. For sure. *AHEM*

So, here you have it! My layout! It has been WAY too long, I know. And hopefully I will start posting more often. I kinda fell in love with my cameo tonight, so that might keep me going for awhile ;)

This is another page for an album I started making for my mom about 4 years ago and have STILL yet to fill up. *hangs her headin shame...*

That's me, with the pig tails, one of my little brothers and my little sister. Let me know what you think!

And here is a close up so you can see a bit of detail.....I cut the siblings title out with my Cam and as you can see I got glue EVERYWHERE! I will be going to find a solution for that tomorrow, cause I am really disappointed that happened. And I am in love with my Cam. So I know I will be playing more.

July Clique Kit Share!

Happy Wednesday!!
I am back today to share a creation from the Clique Kits July kit.......A Midsummer Night's Dream!

This is the second kit that I have received now and I have to say....this one was just as good as the first! Remember how giddy and excited I was THEN?! Well, I am just as twitterpated with this kit too! It was loaded up with all kinds of fun papers and alphas and wooden thing-a-ma-jigs and embellies.....I have only had the chance to make one layout with it so far, and I have SO MUCH leftover stuff to play with! I plan on bringing the remainder of this one to the retreat with me next month and finishing it up for sure!

Now on to the Pep Rally...

I had a hard time deciding on photos for this kit, as the Mister and I don't really travel (YET!!) and it was geared towards road trips, travelling, etc.....but alas, I decided to use a couple fun photos from Canada Day!! We spent the day out on the lake at Wabaman with Loni & Rob and the boys, and did we ever have a blast! We got the boat in the water at about 9:30AM and we came back out of the water at about 8:00PM! We road in the boat, did some tubing, swam, lazed about, had a few adult bevvies.....it was an awesome day! At one point, Loni and I were sitting in the tube gabbing away, coolers in hand and the boat was dragging us along at about 45KM/Hour or so.........and we didn't miss a beat!!

The best part of the day for me though, was watchin Mister D chill.........he even went in the tube!! A few times!! With the boys, with me and even solo!! So here he is in his tall dark drink of water glory, for you all to see....

I tried to get a couple of closeups of the layout too for you to see, but my lighting is really bad and I, in true me fashion, left my post to the last minute! So I will have to try and make up for it next month :) Because I am signed up for that kit too, and judging from the sneak peaks we have seen already, this one is going to be just as good as the others! I can't wait for my happy mail to arrive :-D

Allsorts #253....

I'm trying to get some inventory made up for a craft sale I am doing next weekend, and decided to turn to some challenges for some help! The first one I did was the challenge over at
Allsorts Challenge Blog.

They are challenging us to make a card with NO flowers. None on the paper, none on the image.....ZERO flowers anywhere! So naturally I went for a masculine card. This one is very simple, but most of my masculine cards are. I still struggle with them! Nonetheless, here it is...

Hubs and I are off to a matinee now, we are going to go and see Labor Day. But I will be back later with some more creations, I hope :)

Viva La Verve....

For some reason, saying that over and over makes me think of Vegas. I suppose they hear that a lot....

Anyway, I spent some time in my craft room tonight and managed to do ONE challenge.......not quite as productive as I was hoping but my mojo is slowly coming back :)

I played along with the week 3 sketch posted over at Verve Stamps and this is my final card! I {HEART} this one a lot........I don't know if it will ever leave me.

I am not sure yet if I will be doing another one tonight, I am getting awfully sleepy. Or I want to go back to playing the Sims. 1 or the other :)

Mojo Monday.....week 68! (FINALLY)

A day and a half later, and I am back! HAHA! I ended up making a set of cards using the #68 sketch, and I love them. The color combo is so pretty and I really love the layout too! Anyone else heading back into the archives and joining me on a mission to re-create the Mojo sketches?!

Monday Mojo.....on a Friday morning!

Thank goodness for sketch challenges. Honestly! It is a blistery morning here again in Alberta, and I have been sitting in my scrap room for about 2 hours now, and made NOTHING. I decided to browse some challenge sites I heart, and was reminded of Mojo Monday. Love their sketches! And so.....I decided to go back to week 1, and do them all from the very beginning.

BUT......the earliest sketch I can find is from week 68.....there is actually a 2009 Sketchbook made that I found, and so I shall start there.

SALS #48...

I am so excited to finally be able to play along with the SALS team again!!! It's been so long since I made a card for one of their challenges!! I even took a break from desiging the sketches while we packed, moved and got ourselves settled in again. BUT I AM BACK!!

Allsorts Challenge # 224...

Playing along with some challenges today! It's been a long time since I have :) First one I decided to play along with is over at the AllSorts challenge blog......their challenge is anything BABY. So I decided to make a baby card, and wanted to do something different!

I have seen and admired many "Tri-Shutter" cards in my travels but have yet to make one myself! Until today, I found a simple tutorial over at Beccy's Place that gave me the measurements I needed and I was off!!

Here is my finished up card:

The patterned paper at the end is not really purple like it looks, this card ended up being pink & brown only......which wasn't what I had originally planned, but it turned out great! I really like this card and think that I will be making more of these in the near future :)

Finally a CARD!!

We are finally all settled in......AGAIN. Here is hoping we don't have to move again for at least a year!! I am so tired of moving!!! But we are all settled and I finally had some time to play in my craft room!

This one actually was a custom order, a local friend of mine wanted a card for a wedding her and her hubby are off to this weekend. She wanted me to use the invitation somehow, like I did last time for her.........and their colors, blue & yellow.

At first I was un-inspired......I only had one "image" to work with from the invite, and blue & yellow scare me together!

BUT.........I pulled it off.....and it's actually a beauty! I love how this one turned out :)

Today is Saturday and I plan to spend the whole day in my room.........I have SO many projects to catch up on and some planning to do for the retreat I leave for on THURSDAY!!! EEEEEK!!!

I ♥ Mini Albums...

And I love it even more when people order them! I love to make them, but I never seem to make them for myself. HAHA! So when people come looking for gift ideas it is the FIRST thing I suggest. They are so versatile and so fun to make.......this time I made another "Flip Book" - - - I am not sure if that is what they are ACTUALLY called, but that is what I call them....LOL

I have made many of these in various themes but this particular one is for a baby shower. She called me Thursday night and asked if I could have one ready for her by 5:30 this evening. (MONDAY!) Eeek.......especially since I was in the hospital and then slept most of Saturday away after my morphine "trip"

I don't know how I did it, but I pulled it off!! Here are a few photos I snapped of it so I could share it before it was picked up and off to it's new home...

In total, she can get 10 photos in this one, and I left 2 spots that she can either add some journaling or two more photos, depending on what she prefers! It's a pretty cool gift and it is being delivered along with a photo shoot by one of our local photographers :)

Must get back to my other BIG project I am working on! It's a 12 x 12 wedding album!!

I am a paper whore...

Those who know me know that I love LOVE LOOOOOOOVE to paper craft. I love to make cards, and scrapbook and various other things that involve paper. As of late, I have not done a very good job of showing this part of my life off. I have been doing it behind closed doors and really only posting occasionally to my business page on Facebook or my OLD blog.

Well my fellow crafty friends, the buck stops here! I have a room full of paper and bling and tools and ribbon and ink and stamps and........well, you get the idea. And from now on, I am going to pull them out and play and do the challenges I used to love to do and create. This is a big part of who I am now, and I shall get back to it!

So I shall share with you a recent creation, just to start with........but also so I can create my "Crafty Things" label too....HAHA!

So here is a card that I made recently! I rented a table at a local craft sale market and went to town making items to sell! It was a good day and I got to share it with a fun group of ladies too :)



Here is the thing about my CRAFTY posts.......I will not be posting supplies used. *GASP* Here is why.......my scraproom is a reflection of my OCD when it comes to organizing. Most things are no longer in original packaging, or came from swap kits, or have been in my beloved room for so long that I simply do NOT remember who made it or where it came from. If you have any specific questions, please ask and if I can answer I certainly will! But in the meantime I am no longer going to stress over not knowing which brand that brad came from! And focus solely on sharing my creativity with you.
